Year 6

At St. Clare's Catholic Primary, we understand that Year 6 is a pivotal time for students as they prepare for their transition to secondary school. This year marks a significant step in their educational journey, where they will build on their foundational knowledge and skills in preparation for the future.

The SATs assessments play a crucial role in Year 6, providing students with an opportunity to demonstrate their learning and progress. We encourage parents to support their children during this period, ensuring that they feel confident and prepared to tackle these important examinations.

In addition to academic preparation, we also offer enriching experiences such as our Year 6 residential trip. This exciting opportunity allows students to develop important life skills, foster friendships, and create lasting memories. The residential experience is designed to complement their learning and help them grow as individuals.

At St. Clare's Catholic Primary, we understand that the transition to secondary school can be daunting for both parents and children. Our team is here to provide advice and support every step of the way. We are committed to ensuring that our students leave us not only academically prepared but also equipped with the confidence to thrive in their next educational journey.

This free course, part of the In Our Place course library, can be followed on demand, in your own time, and will help you help your child navigate and prepare during now and the time of starting high school.

As well as ideas and techniques to help you better understand your child, their emotions, and how to help them process or manage them, the course is also a support for the emotional wellbeing of parents and carers of children with additional needs.
