Year 4

Year Four at St. Clare's Catholic Primary

Welcome to Year Four at St. Clare's Catholic Primary! This year promises to be an exciting and challenging one for your children. We are committed to providing an environment that encourages growth in resilience, fosters respect, and promotes responsibility.

We believe that every child is unique and should be given the opportunity to shine in their own way. This is why we've designed our curriculum to be diverse and engaging. This year, we’re particularly excited about linking English with our study of the Ancient Greeks and the Romans. We believe this approach not only makes learning more interesting, but also helps students see the real-world application of their reading, writing and oracy skills.

We have some very exciting Design and Technology projects this year including investigating electrical systems and Shell structures using CAD. D&T at St. Clare's isn't just about building things, but about nurturing problem-solvers and creative thinkers.

At St. Clare's, we understand the importance of resilience. We aim to foster this quality in our students through various activities and lessons. We want them to know that it's okay to make mistakes and face challenges, because that's how we grow and learn. We believe that resilience is a key factor in achieving success not only in academics, but in life.

Towards the end of the academic year, we will have the opportunity to put our skills into practice, during an outdoor educational visit to Nell Bank, where we can work on fun activities together that promote team-building and problem-solving.

Our Class Virtue is Patience

You are able to wait without complaining because you know that most things take time. You are calm and trusting. You know that waiting is sometimes painful or hard to do but you trust that later on something good will happen. You have enough self-control to wait and tolerate something because you know that you can’t control the way someone is acting or what is happening.
